NATURE TEACHES YOU TO BE MERCILESSLY SELF DISCIPLINED

Nature is incredible, it never fails to inspire me.

Nature teaches us that everything takes time and reason to happen. The nature surrounding us has rules to follow and we in turn sync with those rules. The basic laws of nature advocate the sun to rise in the east and set in the west. It follows a certain discipline and so should we. Learning this art of being self-disciplined from nature will benefit us for a long time. Following the laws of physics, nature never sways from its law; it is self-disciplined.

Everything related to nature is systematic considering the concept of Gravity. Newton theorized the whole concept of gravity but it reminds us to keep our feet on the ground. It tells us to be firmly rooted to the ground and to be humble in our lives, no matter how successful we become. Humility is needed in our everyday life and nature expresses this value through its various features. The green grass beneath you portrays humility, as people walk over it. The different seasons that we encounter teach us to be punctual and steady in life. Every minute spent with mother nature leads us to greater learnings. Water teaches us to be flexible and fire teaches us to spread the warmth.

For everything there is a season and a reason.

Nature possibly is one of the best teachers of inculcating in ourselves the values of presence and awareness. Nature shall allow you to live in the present and make you aware of your emotional state. Nature teaches you to be authentic and raw giving you chances to be alone with yourself in a non-judgemental scenario. The Mahatman philosophy encourages disciplines in the areas of health, wealth, and wisdom. Self-discipline allows you to stick to your own decisions and follow them thoroughly. This would lead to increased self-confidence, self-esteem, and happiness.

Great health should be maintained by daily exercises and a healthy diet. Research suggests that a healthy positive attitude helps build a healthier immune system. Great Wealth helps you to be stable through managing your time and energy.  Taking accountability for your own actions will help you learn and pursue new knowledge. Great Wisdom comes through realizing your own potential and knowing who you can be.

Each facet of nature insinuates self-discipline among us.

LONGEVITY: IT’S TIME TO OUTLIVE LIMITATIONS https://samadettiwar.com/longevity-its-time-to-outlive-limitations/ Tue, 07 Jul 2020 08:53:11 +0000 http://samadettiwar.com/?p=10370

LONGEVITY: IT’S TIME TO OUTLIVE LIMITATIONS

Humans have long been reigning at the top of the food chain – it is now time to extend this victory into the realm of longevity. We must be the species to outlive all others!

Sam Adettiwar

How is it that Bowhead Whales and Red Sea Urchins have an average life span of 200 years while humans thank themselves if they cross a mere eighty years! In keeping with its spirit of audacity, Mahatman proposes to extend the human lifespan well beyond hundred years – indeed my personal goal is to see at least 120 summers on this earth – if not more!

Long and Productive

While some may respond with scepticism to my claim, this is the only way forward for the race of Mahatmans that our philosophy seeks to build. This Mahatman longevity is built on the foundation of productivity and the two feed off from each other. Therefore, a productive lifestyle enables a person to live longer, which in turn helps him or her to be more productive. What use is a long life if it is merely vegetative – if the old person is just content to eat, mate, excrete just so that he can begin the routine all over again the next day.

Have you heard of the Japanese concept of IKIGAI (pronounced “Icky Guy”)? Simply put, it means a strong purpose – that which makes you jump out of bed every morning, raring to get to work. IKIGAI originated in the Japanese island of Okinawa, which is home to the largest population of centenarians in the world. IKIGAI gives a sense of clarity and purpose to life, which in turn has a direct correlation to longevity. The same concept has been practiced by people in Sardinia and the Nicoya Peninsula regions with large concentrations of hundred-year-olds.

In complete contrast to this traditional concept of a long life, Mahatman proposes that we make our lives as useful as possible – we keep working, studying, loving, giving, and essentially learning with all kinds of experiences. Such a productive life is bound to make us healthy in body and mind leading to greater longevity.

Science Behind Longevity

Do you think that all this is a mere fantasy?
Check out all the stupendous research carried out in the field of longevity. Massive advances in genetic engineering will soon prevent or reverse the ageing of cells while innovative 3D printers will create human organs loaded with living cells. In this way, people will soon be able to replace vital body organs with new parts without going the painstaking way of traditional organ transplants. The best part of such futuristic biotechnology is that you do not have to be old to live long but you can live the life of a 25 or 30-year-old for years and years. Indeed contemporary science has gone so far as to claim that by the year 2050, humans can become immortal.

With billion-dollar companies like Google sponsoring high-end anti-aging research, longevity is no longer a distant dream. Its project Calico has been focusing on how caloric intake influences overall health and aging in particular. There are already scientists like Valter Longo of the University of Southern California who have found the genes responsible for entropy or the change from order to disorder on the cellular level. When Longo removed these two genes, RAS2 and SCH9, the life of Baker’s Yeast were extended from 6 days to 10 weeks, which is equivalent to 800 human years2. Suddenly the Mahatman dream of living beyond 100 in a youthful and productive existence does not seem impossible anymore – does it?

Longevity Promoting Lifestyles

The possibility of an immortal existence for now at least exists in the realm of extreme science. Nevertheless, what if I told you that there are newer lifestyles being explored, which could place longevity squarely within our own control. Harvard scholar David Sinclair who first came into prominence with his research on key cellular mechanisms responsible for vascular aging and its effects on muscle health promotes one such approach. His research found a way to successfully reverse this process in animals, thus opening up the direction to reverse vascular aging in humans too that is responsible for several age-related conditions, such as cardiac and neurological problems, muscle loss, impaired wound healing and overall frailty.

Based on years of research Sinclair outlines three levels of aging and thus advocates a three-pronged strategy to increase longevity. First, there are certain lifestyle changes like intensive exercise that can slow down the aging process. Next, there are drug regimens like supplements and anti-aging molecules that begin to stop aging, and finally there are experimental new procedures that may actually reverse aging once they are fully developed. In fact, Sinclair reveals that his mother – a former patient of lung cancer – prolonged her life with only one lung for 20 years by taking the molecules he gave her. Likewise, Sinclair has been giving his father such supplements for years and now the sprightly 79-year-old father continues to enjoy white-water rafting and mountaineering as his hobbies. The crux of Sinclair’s research is based on sirtuins, which are genes that tell enzymes to control the way a cell functions. According to Sinclair, sirtuins are activated by practices such as calorie restriction and extreme exercise as well as supplements with a high concentration of resveratrol, a compound found in grape skin.

Sam’s Regimen

I personally follow certain strategies to prolong life in good health based on Sinclair’s theory. This is based on the idea that when the body is faced with biological stress, organisms put most of their energy into maximizing their own health in order to survive. In other words, its repair mechanisms go into full drive, and as a result, the cells are rejuvenated. In order to put this theory in practice, I do several things like running until I am out of breath, staying hungry by occasional fasting, and my personal favorite, regular cold-water showers.

Change Your Mind-Set

However, before everything else, we need to change our attitude toward aging. It should be considered a disease rather than being mystified and glorified – a disease that becomes easier to treat with each passing day. Therefore, in Mahatman, that day is not far when humans will live beyond 120 and I, for sure will be looking forward to that amazing time when humans can take their rightful place at the apex of the longevity chain!

PURSUE GREAT HEALTH https://samadettiwar.com/pursue-great-health/ Tue, 07 Jul 2020 08:17:04 +0000 http://samadettiwar.com/?p=10362

PURSUE GREAT HEALTH

Great Health gives one great outcome!

This is the first pillar towards attaining MAHATMAN. In this modern era, we have so many options to take care of our bodies, yet we neglect them. Pursuing great health is to strengthen and advance your body and mind. One should be tough like a rock and supple like water. One should do each activity with passion and with mindfulness.
Every cell in your body should be divinely healthy. Your body and mind influence your entire life, your thoughts, attitude, and behaviour. It is critical that they work in harmony so you can achieve success in your craft, relationship, or community. To have the energy to work for long hours, your body and brain should be in line with each other at the moment. Every small activity that we follow benefits our body and brain in some or the other way. Like, how walking accentuates our senses, so does brushing our teeth early morning. It affects every part of your body smoothly.

HOW TO ACHIEVE GREAT HEALTH?

Sweat yourself out through weight training, aerobics, dance, Zumba, and sports. Throughout the day, remind yourself that whatever you do, you have to pursue great heath. With such thoughts, the most mundane tasks will yield great outcomes. Every second, life gives you opportunities, so stretch as far as possible to allow your mind to overcome criticisms. Stretching helps you to release toxins and create energy for great and fruitful work. Scientific Research by Wharton, MIT and London Business School suggests that laughter relieves stress and boredom and induces physical changes in your body leading to better physical, mental and emotional health.

We all know Ayurveda is the oldest form of medicine to promote natural well-being in humans. It suggests that when all our systems in the body are inequality and when our mind is happy yet active, we are healthy. Great health is required for being a MAHATMAN, a self-actualized human being embarking his journey from happiness to greatness. Here is how:

1. EAT HEALTHY.

What you eat is closely linked to your health. Making healthier food choices prevents you and protects you from health conditions.

2. REGULAR EXERCISE.

Exercises keep your body in motion and help treat various mental diseases. Making routine exercise as your habit will make you feel better and happy. Remember, any amount of exercise is better than none.

3. THINK POSITIVE & PRACTICE SELF-GRATITUDE.

A healthy positive attitude helps build a healthier immune system and a happy soul.

4. GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP.

Have trouble sleeping, try exercises like yoga or meditation. They help you calm your worries and problems.

5. AVOID STRESS

Being stressed is like inviting a disaster. Try to simplify your life by reducing stress and practicing positive exercises.

“Stay ‘Prasanna’, seek active happiness which requires creativity, cheerfulness, boldness, and intellect. “

FEEL BOUNDLESS ENERGY https://samadettiwar.com/feel-boundless-energy/ Tue, 07 Jul 2020 07:39:29 +0000 http://samadettiwar.com/?p=10358

FEEL BOUNDLESS ENERGY

Boundless; immense or limitless!

The world of reality has its own limits but the world of imagination is boundless. Every morning get up, see through your window the beauty of nature. Salute thy nature for its very own features. Admire its basics; the way the water flows, the lights of sun. As adults, we are excited about life when we feel fulfilled and enjoy the present time. All this comes through having meaning, purpose and achievement in life. When life is not satisfying, we feel drained and tired. Discontent breeds more unhappiness and we lack purpose. We need to discover our boundless energy to move from mundane to extra-mundane.
Here are some steps to feel limitless:

MAINTAIN PERSONAL BALANCE.

If the weather is good outside, go out and feel the warmth of the sun. Sit in a comfortable situation and breathe rhythmically. A perfect balance would help you calm and compose throughout the entire day.

SPEED UP YOUR METABOLISM.

Don’t consume hard foods that take time to digest and take a great deal of our energy. Eat less but in a timely manner. Fuel yourself with water; your body needs it to process calories. Research shows that getting plenty of protein can boost your metabolism, causing you to burn an extra 150 to 200 calories a day, says Jeff Hampl,a spokesman for the American Dietetic Association.

LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD

Carry less of your past and feel lighter afterwards. Let go of the negative emotions from your body. Meditate and raise your energy. Concentrate on your thoughts and attitude. Observe the way they flow and enter your body.

There is power inside your body, express it, and make it loud. Energize your body and soul. We have to grow with great vigor and get every nook and cranny of an opportunity we can. We need to stick our necks out to thrive and evolve. We are here to stay and thrive. We must be unapologetic about our quest for affluence. Take risks and feel great. Work hard to attain what you desire. Stay positive on your journey as it will breed happiness. Keep learning and acquiring new knowledge. There is no time bad to do things that you love.

BIKE FASTER TO OVERCOME FATIGUE! https://samadettiwar.com/bike-faster-to-overcome-fatigue/ Tue, 07 Jul 2020 07:25:22 +0000 http://samadettiwar.com/?p=10350

BIKE FASTER TO OVERCOME FATIGUE!

“Bike or not bike? Everyday question that strikes me.”

One of the most important pillars of Mahatman Philosophy is achieving Great Health. To achieve greatness, you need to strive and stretch all your life! Today we live in a world where we have so many options when it comes to taking care of our body and yet we often neglect to do the same. Besides our usual workouts, we have other equally interesting options such as yoga, dance, martial arts, functional training, and other simple things that we could do when left to our own devices such as jogging, walking, climbing a hill, or cycling. Cycling while generally pleasurable, yes can be painful and sharp.

But Fatigue and exhaustion is something we all have felt at some time or the other.

“Human Fatigue is still a mystery.”

BIKE FOR ELIMINATING FATIGUE!

Let’s define Fatigue, the first sign your body gives you when it cannot handle overload on your muscles. Once lactate acid begins to build up in your body, you start to feel the burn in your muscles. But let’s note that Biking is a top-notch cardio workout. You will burn about 400 calories in an hour and it strengthens your lower body. If you prefer a gentle workout for your back, hips, knees and ankles, biking is a great choice.

The benefits of cycling are endless and we are here to describe them to you in a great way.

Biking improves mental well-being and a recent study suggests that people who ride a bike are actually exposed to fewer dangerous fumes than those who travel by car. There are so many ways exercise can boost your mood; the release of adrenaline and endorphins in your body and improved confidence. You can always ride solo – giving you time to process certain thoughts. A study by the Healthy Air Campaign, King’s College, London showed that the driver experienced five times higher pollution levels than the cyclist. Long story short : the cyclist won.

Cycling raises your heart rate and gets the blood pumping around your body. It is one of the healthy ways suggested by the NHS to cut your risk of major illnesses such as heart disease. Dr. Jason Gill of the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences commented: “Cycling all or part of the way to work was associated with a substantially lower risk of adverse health outcomes.” Exercise has been frequently associated with brain health and a 2013 study found that during cycling or exercising, the blood flow in the brain rises by 28% and 70% in specific areas. Improved blood flow keeps us healthy and maintains heart rate.

A basic thing we need to understand here is we have to do each and every activity with mindfulness and passion. Even something as mundane as brushing our teeth or tying our shoelaces can be done with a lot of energy and passion. We need to understand that everything we do is for the brain and the body. Every small activity that we undertake is going to benefit our brain and our body in some way.

ENCOURAGING GREAT HEALTH FOR TEENS https://samadettiwar.com/within-the-construction-industry-as-their-overdraft/ Fri, 22 Jan 2016 05:43:23 +0000 http://consulting.stylemixthemes.com/?p=748

ENCOURAGING GREAT HEALTH FOR TEENS

Pursuing great health is the cornerstone of any fulfilling, remarkable life. We talk a lot about achieving greatness, and regular exercise allows you to perform at the peak of your potential, both physically and mentally. Whether it’s for school, sports, or with common tasks, cultivating a strong body and mind is the foundation for succeeding in your daily lives.

How are teens involved with exercise?

For teenagers, there is a wide spectrum regarding how active they are. For some students, working out is their passion and these kids may be involved with every sport at their school or on campus. For other teens, exercising is rarely a priority in their lives. For these, a walk up the stairs may leave them out of breath. Now regardless of which side of the spectrum you lie on, there is always room for growth and improvement. Striving for excellence in the realms of great health such as regular exercise, proper nourishment, and physical and mental stability is imperative for your formative years.

The problem is that teenagers love to procrastinate so many times, exercise never becomes a daily habit. Especially with the “I’ll go to the gym tomorrow mentality”, exercise becomes a one-time deal rather than a daily occurrence. But you can never wait around to exercise, you have to start today, start NOW. This is imperative because especially as young adults, we have such sedentary lifestyles. We sit in chairs all day during school,  we sit at our desks to do homework, then sit some more on the couch to watch tv, and then finally lie down on our beds to sleep.  Especially since the Department of Health and Human Services reports that teens should get at least 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous activities to be healthy, we have to actively strive to make workouts part of our daily routine.

Why should teens work out?

Now since Gen Z tend to be logical realists, we always need a reason why to do something. So, to REALLY convince that working out is crucial, here are 5 prominent reasons why you should exercise regularly.

Fitness can make you smarter:

Fitness can make you smarter. That’s right, exercise is linked with many benefits to your brain, including improved cognition, memory recall, and intelligence. In fact, a Harvard article reports that regular aerobic exercise boosts the size of the hippocampus in your brain, the area involved with verbal memory and learning. Even though it sounds too good to be true,  exercising can bring your better grades.

Working out improves your health and wellness:

Working out drastically improves your health and wellness. Lacking fitness can result in obesity, higher chances of cardiovascular complications, metabolic diseases, and less healthy bones. Moreover, many of your bodily processes such as respiration and digestion are maximized when you work out. Moreover, studies have even indicated that working out can lengthen your lifespan. This ensures your path to greatness is supported by a strong body and mind. Many bodily processes are enhanced through regular exercise.

Correlation between exercise and better sleep quality

If there is one thing that all teenagers love, it’s sleeping. And fitness can allow you to have better sleep. A John Hopkins research study found that there is a correlation between exercise and better sleep quality. With more valuable sleep patterns, you can reduce your tiredness and grogginess and maximize your daily energy.

Improving your mental state:

Working out can serve as a mood booster. Exercising releases endorphins from the brain, which are characterized as “feel good hormone”. Moreover, fitness can increase your energy levels, allowing you to be more productive. This can improve your mental state, allowing you to be more positive and optimistic. So, even though exercising may seem boring and draining, it actually energizes and motivates your actions.

Through exercise, you can obtain your dream body:

Through exercise, you can obtain your dream body, which can serve as a form of empowerment. Now, we aren’t advocating that one body type is better than another, but exercising regularly can help build your muscles and tone your body. This sense of achievement can boost your self-confidence and inner strength.

Due to its myriads of benefits, you understand why great health is truly the foundation for our Mahatman philosophy and the launchpad to help us achieve greatness.

What are some types of exercise that work for me?

For some teenagers, their excuse for not exercising is that they don’t enjoy working out. However, due to the multitudes of exercises, there is something for everyone! If you like intensity and progress in your workouts, you can do boxing, CrossFit, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). If you are a social butterfly, you can sign up for group workout sessions or enroll in a sport to find your community. If you enjoy more cardio, you can take up jogging, indoor cycling, and aerobics. If you love creative expression, you can try dancing or yoga. And even if you are broke, you can partake in outdoor activities such as hiking and biking, which are completely free. Even if you can’t make it to the gym everyday, aim to workout at your house using training videos that are on your smartphone.

How do I stick to a workout routine?

For many teens, their promise to exercise is much like a New Year’s resolution. It works for the first few days or weeks, but is never a long-term commitment. To avoid these empty fitness promises, use the following techniques to ensure that you stick to your routine over weeks, months, or even years.

Create a workout journal

Have clear goals and intentions for your workouts, and list down the reasons why you are working out and what you hope to accomplish. The physical act of writing it down makes your thoughts a reality, and ensures that you will stick to your workouts. Also, track your progress and record your achievements, whether it’s improvements in your physique or stamina.

Splurge on what motivates you

Whether it’s investing in workout gear or buying some dope fitness clothes, find something that excites you to work out. By correlating positive feelings with exercising, this increases the chance that you will work out. However, don’t make the mistake of buying these items and then never exercising. Promise yourself 10 times that “I will work out”, and then buy workout gear.

Why am I working out?
  • Makes me feel empowered and confident in my body
  • Boosts my health and wellness
  • Improves my physique
  • Allows me to have more energy through the day
  • Improves my mood
Vision & Goal
  • Short-term goal: Run 5 miles in a week
  • Long-term goal: Run a marathon by the end of the year
  • Workout vision: To advance my stamina, endurance, and boost my mood levels.
Integrate it into your schedule

Dedicate a certain chunk of time every day for you to exercise, and don’t schedule any other commitments during this time. Prioritize your workout session as you would for an appointment or a meeting.

Progress
  • 2/7/19: I am able to run a mile under 7 minutes.
  • 2/10/19: I have worked out 10 consecutive days in a row
Sign up for something

Whether it is joining a sports team, committing to yoga sessions, or signing up for a community race, sign up for something. This way, you are creating an obligation to work out, not just creating a promise in your head.

Find a workout buddy

Collaborating with a friend and encouraging each other to exercise can be one of the best motivating techniques. Since you are holding each other accountable and boosting companion morale, this can ensure that working out becomes productive and enjoyable.

So after reading this, you should have no excuse not to work out. Once you build fitness to be a habit, it becomes easier and seamlessly fits into your daily routine. Great health is arguably the most important aspect of a teenager’s life, and that’s why the Mahatman team advocates it so heavily. Truly, great health is the foundation for a great life.
